**Disclaimer: This is a recipe review and not my recipe. The recipe originated from Slow Cooker Gourmet.**

I wanted to start out with something super easy, yet super delicious; Crockpot Pork Chops with Cream Herb Sauce. I know time and money is a factor in many households, so this recipe will end up being a weekly staple in your household.

Now, I am not a huge crockpot user. Well, actually, this is my first time using a crockpot to be honest. *gasp* Yes, I have never, ever touched a crockpot until this recipe! Well, when I was making my menu, I decided since I usually work through dinner, I wanted to make a few crockpot meals because I wanted to be able to grab my food once when I was on my lunch. Well, here is my first ever crockpot recipe I did.

I decided to try out this recipe because I love pork chops and the creamy herb sauce sounded amazing especially when adding them to mashed potatoes. Not to mention, I had most of the ingredients to start with, so making this recipe only costed me about $6 or so all together.

Here is what you will need:

  • pork loin chops
  • olive oil
  • butter
  • small yellow onion
  • garlic
  • dried thyme
  • salt
  • dried mustard powder
  • pepper
  • chicken broth
  • heavy cream
  • cornstarch
  • freeze dried parsley
  • freeze dried basil

Not bad, right? It is basically spices, which most of us have, and if not, you can always use the spices you have on hand because it is mainly used to season your meat. As for the pork chops, I used some assorted cut pork chops. I find those to be the best pork chops one can have, not to mention, they are cheaper than the center cut too.  The instructions were pretty simple, pretty easy prep to follow.

Like I said previously, pretty easy to follow; nothing too hard or time consuming. Well, since my mom lives with me, I only decided to make two pork chops. They were between ¼ inch thick, so not too thick, but not too thin. I cooked it on low; however, the two pork chops were done in about 3 hours. Yes, it did not need all the cooking time, at least for me. Plus, I was using the crockpot designed to feed 6 people too. You may need to adjust the cooking time, if you are not making the entire two pounds of meat.  Since I started cooking this in the morning, I left it to warm until I was ready to make the sauce, which is amazing your food gets done before your dinner time.  The sauce was easy to make, it took me a few minutes. I added in some garlic, salt, and pepper, and it tasted wonderful.

Overall, I would give this recipe a 5 star rating. Yes, it was that great. I loved the meat. The meat was to die for. Literally to die for, it fell off the bone. There was no knife needed to eat this meal. I made a side of mashed potatoes, which was a perfect side dish because the sauce was a wonderful gravy. I had enough gravy to make more potatoes the next afternoon for lunch. I guarantee, if you are a pork lover and looking for an amazing meal this recipe is for you!
