January 10, 2017: SeaWorld

seaworld, seaworld orlando, shamu, theme parks

If you haven’t read my ‘about me’ you may not know that I am located in Central Florida. So, visiting SeaWorld and Busch Gardens are always in the works for me. While I would love to visit Universal and Disney World, they have not been in the budget for me…yet!

Since I am an annual pass member to both; Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and SeaWorld Orlando, you will hear about a lot of day trips to both parks.  So, for my first trip of the year, my younger sister, Vanessa and I, decided to take advantage of the free pass I get in the month of January for being an annual pass holder. Majority all of my trips will be taken with my younger sister, which is always a fun time!

Since we’ve just went to Seaworld in December, we already knew one of our all-time favorite rides (Journey to Atlantis)  was closed down for scheduled maintenance. Boo! Needless to say, hey, it was a free day, so might as well make the best out of it.

Unlike other days this day we only spent about an hour in the park and did all the rides we wanted to do (Manta, Kraken, Mako, and Wild Arctic). We didn’t see any shows because 1) they were on as we were walking by 2) we’ve seen them numerous times and 3) it looked like the sky was going to open up and start raining.

Good thing we are FL residents and were able to complete the park within 2 hours and able to haul our butt to the car before the rain started coming down.

Since it was only about 4:20 in the afternoon, we decided to find something else to do in Orlando. Hard thing to do, huh? There is everything and anything you can think of in Orlando! Best part is they are normally open late, so you can keep on having fun until you are ready to drop. We went through the list of things to do, whether it be a museum or go looking into touristy shops, we declined because through my bank, I rack up points (which I have a lot of) and I can get us into numerous Orlando attractions for free (more on that later). We opted in to do our normal (and when I mean normal, you will notice this is something we tend to do nearly every time we are together.), WingStop and Ikea run and then head on home.

Amanda is a Florida raised, theme park junkie, furmom extraordinaire. She loves a good adventure with a side of food. You can find her planning her next trip or vegging on the couch with her sidekick (and baby), Bella!
