If you are like me, you love this time of the year. You love the crisp air, leaves changing… Uh, wait, let’s start that over again.. You love the hot and humid weather, leaves hanging, and scary things!

I love Halloween just for the candy and the scary things you can find around. This year is the same. Have to pick up a bag(s) of my favorite candy and get my tickets to the best haunts I can find.

This year, Vanessa and I decided we wanted to do something different. We attended Howl-O-Scream in 2015, we were thinking about attending again this year, but I had a grand idea to find something different and better to do. Of course, living within an hour distance of Tampa AND Orlando, we should be able to find something scary to enjoy.

This is when I stumbled upon Scream-A-Geddon in Dade City, FL. To be technical, we stumbled upon this place on a billboard after we were leaving Howl-O-Scream in 2015. I decided to give them a quick search and came upon their website. The website looked scary enough, but the prices were heavenly! It was little bit over $30 to attend with a $10 parking fee, which is still cheaper than the prices at Busch Gardens! Score!

What’s at Scream-A-Geddon?

Scream-A-Geddon has 5 haunts. It’s not like your ‘typical’ haunt place that usually advertises on tv and such. This place has 5 different haunts. 3 of the haunts are haunted houses. 2 of the 3 haunted houses are what they call interactive houses. They also have a haunted hayride and a haunted trail.

What’s an interactive house?

Their interactive houses gives you two options. You can ‘mark’ yourself, which allows the scare actors to touch you or drag you around to be apart of the house. However, this option, you MUST be 18 or older. The second option is to go through the house as a spectator, basically like any other house. The actors cannot touch you or make you apart of the attraction.

Was it worth it?

Short and simple, yes. Yes, it was worth it. It was worth every penny, to be honest. All of the attractions were amazing! The BlackPool Prison (interactive) house was superb! We decided to mark ourselves and let me tell you, they WILL touch you the second you get in the door. You WILL get dragged through the house. You will be apart of the entertainment. Trust me, I marked myself and it was a blast!

Overall, all of the attractions were great. There wasn’t a dud out of them all. We loved how they only let a few people in at a time, so you got the full effect. You weren’t being thrown in like cattle. Majority of the time, Vanessa and I were the only ones, which made it harder for me to use her as a human shield.

Amanda is a Florida raised, theme park junkie, furmom extraordinaire. She loves a good adventure with a side of food. You can find her planning her next trip or vegging on the couch with her sidekick (and baby), Bella!
