Review: Fifty Shades Freed is All About Money And Abuse?

As we all know, the newest Fifty Shades movie came out last week. Of course, I’ve seen ads for it ALL OVER. I watched the other two movies in the trilogy and thought they were pretty decent, so I was pretty pumped for this one. While I was pumped, I was also kind of sad that it is the end, but after watching it, I am glad it is.

The movie starts out with Christian and Anna getting married. Hmm, sounds familiar? Does it ring the Twilight bell? Yes? Good. And it just progressively got worse.

Why? Why was it just a very fast decline you ask? The entire movie revolved around money. The fancy wedding, the fancy new house, fast cars, and paying a ransom.

Was I looking for sexy scenes? No. But at the same time I was looking for something more. Something that is more captivating. Something deeper. Not following the woes of a rich wife and a jealous husband.

Don’t even get me started on Christian. Looking at their relationship and really analyzing it (even before this movie occurred) it was a relationship that you tell your children to run away from. He is jealous, he manipulates, he controls, and he is overall NOT husband or even boyfriend material for that matter.

What really got me was that one scene where they were in the “play room” and where he basically took his anger out on her in one of the most intimate ways possible to the point she had to use her safe word. THAT IS NOT OKAY. That is abuse. And the point she brought up was why are you doing this? There are other ways to show your frustration, but this is NOT one of them.

Would I watch this movie again? No. Did this movie live up to my expectations? Dear goodness, no.

Amanda is a Florida raised, theme park junkie, furmom extraordinaire. She loves a good adventure with a side of food. You can find her planning her next trip or vegging on the couch with her sidekick (and baby), Bella!

I honestly didn’t care for this last one – not sure if I’ll bother with the third.

Personally, I wouldn’t bother with the third, but that’s just me. I wasn’t a fan at all.

After reading the books the movie is a huge fail.

I will admit I never read the books, but I will eventually.
