Why ‘The Byas Life’?

The Byas Life, Amanda Byas

I’ve been asked numerous times, “Why did you choose “The Byas Life” as your domain name? What’s so significant about “The Byas Life”?

When I was brainstorming for a domain name, I wanted something different. I didn’t it want it to be fully centered around me. Even though, I am going to be one of the sole contributors. Of course, I could have went with AmandaByas.com or even AmandaNicole.com like nearly everyone else does. (No offense to anyone that did that.)

One of the main reasons I decided to name it “The Byas Life” is to honor my late father. Growing up I was always known as either the Byas girls or James kids. So, it just seemed fitting to name my very own blog after what I’ve been known for, for the past 25 years!

Not to mention, most of my outings are usually accompanied with my sister, Vanessa. So, instead of it just being centered around me I wanted something inclusive where it’s still about me, but I can also be somewhat versatile.

Pssssssssst! I heard Vanessa may make an appearance here in there on the blog too!

How Can I Choose A Domain Name For Myself?

I’ve been asked how can I choose a domain name for myself? Or how can I have a unique domain name that isn’t taken or something that will just be relevant to me.

What I’ve told people is stop sitting there and brainstorming. It will come to you. If that means you are writing content for upcoming blog/site before you have your name for it, then that’s completely fine. It’ll come to you when it comes to you. It’s completely okay for it take a while or for it to not even take a while. But when you have the perfect domain name, you’ll surely know.

Question Time: How did you end up with your domain name?

Amanda is a Florida raised, theme park junkie, furmom extraordinaire. She loves a good adventure with a side of food. You can find her planning her next trip or vegging on the couch with her sidekick (and baby), Bella!

What a lovely reason to have come up with your domain. Mine is a play on words as it’s all about my life so a break down of life and I have mental health issues and was going through a breakdown at the time.

This is always nice to know the story behind your domain name. Ours just came from our middle names and because it made a cool alliteration!

I was just helping a new friend to decide upon her domain name! I will share this with her because it is true! When it’s right you just know!
I chose my domain name because it made sense to what I initially started my blog about. Now, I do blog about a lot of other topics but it still works because “fashion” is in many things, not just what we wear. I was over 40 so the name just worked. It did not hurt that it was also catchy! I think it is anyway haha.

Yes! I’ve told many people that you will know when it’s the right name. I love the meaning behind yours. You’re right fashion is not just what we wear, it encompasses a lot of other topics too.

Yes! That is what I Tell people all the time. The hardest part of starting a blog is choosing your domain name. By then most people end up quitting.

Your domain name stands out, which is a good thing. It doesn’t say a lot of the common names included in many domains (including mine).

I love how you chose your domain name. Everyone has a reason for choosing what they did and a tribute to a father is the best reason I can think of.
