Dining Reviews

Mission BBQ Lakeland, a Patriotic BBQ Restaurant

I haven’t done a proper dining review in a short little while. My last one was not entirely a dining review but touched on a very serious topic that consumers face nowadays. However, my last proper dining review was Mama Dilo’s Deli. Next up on the docket is Mission BBQ Lakeland in Lakeland, Florida!

Background

Mission BBQ opened its doors back on September 11, 2011. It was founded by two friends who were passionate about their BBQ. They do what they do for the men and women who serve us, whether in the military, first responders, police officers, etc.

They currently have locations throughout the United States.

Was the Food Good at Mission BBQ Lakeland?

When you think of BBQ, you think of brisket, the fall-of-the-bone ribs, the fresh-squeezed lemonade, and the best part, all of the barbecue sauces known to man. Yum. You want all of that at a great price, am I right?

It was very hard deciding what to order off the Mission BBQ Lakeland menu. Vanessa and I decided we would order a brisket, a rack of bay-b back ribs, mac & cheese, and fries. Our total came out to $38 and change.

The food was excellent! The ribs were falling off the bone, goodness! The brisket was moist and flavorful.

To be honest, their sauce selection was the best too. Vanessa was disappointed with the lack of hot BBQ sauce, but she found some alternatives that she fancied.

Each table had a container that held six different BBQ sauces to try. Each of their sauces was honestly great. There wasn’t any that I tried that I honestly didn’t care for.

If you are more of a hot sauce person, they did have hot sauce bottles near the utensils upfront for you to use too!

The Verdict

The food was beyond yummy and amazing. The price point was to die for. We spent $38 and got more than enough food for the two of us. They had nice fresh lemonade, which was a huge surprise. The service was like fast food, but without that fast food quality.

Overall, the experience was beyond fantastic. The price was great. The service was excellent. It’ll be a place to go back to in the future. You honestly can’t beat having a good BBQ at a fast-food type of joint.
