What Do You Need to Make Cheesy Stuff Meatballs on the Stove?
Many people always say it costs more to make things from scratch and would rather pick up pre-made items. I am here to say it’s actually much cheaper to cook from scratch than it is to buy pre-made items. Not to mention how much better it tastes.
According to the recipe, all you need to make mozzarella cheese stuffed meatballs all you need is:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork or mild Italian sausage
- 1 c breadcrumbs
- 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
- 3 eggs
- 3 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 lb mozzarella, cut into cubes
- olive oil
- 1 jar(s) marinara sauce (or homemade sauce)
What Did I Change in the Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs?
If you have been with me long enough, you know I always tend to change up some stuff in a recipe after I made it a time or two. However, one thing I always tend to change is the spices. If a recipe only calls for salt and pepper, that doesn’t cut it in the Byas household. I need me some seasoned food.
So, for this recipe, I a used the following spices:
- McCormick Roasted Garlic and Herb Seasoning
- Red Chili Flakes
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
How to Make Mozzarella Cheese Stuffed Meatballs
I know when it is a weekday, you do not have a lot of time to make dinner. This is why I love this recipe so much. You can cook this recipe in under 30 minutes. All you are really doing is creating your meatballs. I’ve even made my meatballs (not cooked) when meal prepping to cut down that time as well. It works wonders when you are on a time crunch, but do not want to eat out.
All you need to is the following:
- In a large bowl, mix the ingredients from the beef with pepper. Form into 2″ balls.
- Press a cheese cube in the middle and seal the meat around it.
- Heat 1/2″ olive oil in a large skillet. Brown meatballs and then set aside on a plate.
- Pour marinara sauce into the pan; bring to a simmer. Add meatballs and simmer until cooked through, about 30 minutes.
- Serve over spaghetti or in a sub roll!
