At The Byas Life, our crafting enthusiasm has surged, with a particular focus on elevating our artistry. Currently, I’m immersed in creating a remarkable Tooth Fairy Pouch using Plastic Canvas, and I’m documenting my progress on our Facebook and Instagram pages. I invite you to follow us on one or both platforms to catch exclusive glimpses of posts, ongoing projects, and playful snapshots!

For those engrossed in plastic canvas projects, the inevitable surplus of scraps often accumulates, reserved for future creative endeavors. If you share my passion and find yourself exploring crafting ideas on Pinterest, you’re likely to stumble upon a treasure trove of inspiration. This led me into a crafting spree, discovering an abundance of what I fondly refer to as “One Hour Crafts with Scraps – Plastic Canvas Edition.”

Tooth Fairy Pouch – Plastic Canvas Pattern

So, for our first one-hour craft, it’s going to be the Tooth Fairy Pouch. I found the pattern on Pinterest. Yay, for free!

Is the Tooth Fairy Pouch for Beginners?

It’s for beginners. I recommend this if you are starting and want to make something small in an afternoon’s time. It doesn’t use many materials, so it’s in our “One Hour Craft with Scraps – Plastic Canvas Edition.”

I do want to say that when cutting it out, I did cut it out a bit wrong, even though I was following directions. However, it could have been an oversight on my end. Oh well.  I liked how mine turned out. It had a bit more of a gap in the ridges on the bottom than in the photo, and I think that looks better than what it is in design. Since I made that hiccup (well, it’s not a hiccup), I had to redo the blush a little bit, too, but when you’ve done many plastic canvas projects, you get an eye for going with the flow and using the pattern as a “suggestion” instead of “instructions.”

How Much Yarn Do You Need?

If you know me, you know I have a crap ton of plastic canvas, and I have a crap ton of yarn to go with it. Also, if you’ve been following the blog and my own personal Instagram, you’ll notice that I have been using a ton of white and pink so far, so this Tooth Fairy Pouch wasn’t using any yarn I don’t have. I also have a stash of blue and black yarn from previous projects.

It really didn’t take much yarn to complete this project at all. That’s why it is a part of our crafting with scraps!

Did It Really Take You One Hour to Complete?

From the moment I cut out the teeth to the moment I whipped and stitched them together, it took me an hour. That was with me taking my time and not rushing through it. Of course, if you are a beginner, this may take you a bit longer than an hour, but it shouldn’t take you more than an afternoon to complete. This project is perfect for a cozy afternoon on the couch while binge-watching your favorite television show.
