Whether you’re a thrill-seeking veteran or a first-timer looking for a spooky good time, Scream-A-Geddon promises to deliver an unforgettable Halloween experience.
But before you pack your bags and head out to Dade City, here’s what you need to know to make the most out of your visit to this terrifyingly awesome attraction.
Finding Scream-A-Geddon
My sister Vanessa and I wanted to do something different for Halloween this year. We had attended Howl-O-Scream in 2015, and while we were thinking about attending again this year, I had a grand idea to find something even better. Living within an hour’s distance of Tampa and Orlando, we should be able to find something scary to enjoy. That’s when we stumbled upon Scream-A-Geddon in Dade City, FL. We saw a billboard for it while leaving Howl-O-Scream and decided to check it out.
Ticket Prices and Packages
One of the best things about Scream-A-Geddon is that it’s affordable. General admission tickets are around $30, including access to all the haunts. There’s also a $10 parking fee, but even with that added on, it’s still cheaper than many other Halloween attractions in the area. You can also purchase a VIP package for an extra fee, which includes faster access to the haunts and other perks.
How to Get Cheaper Tickets
If you want to save a bit of coin when going to Scream-A-Geddon, you will want to sign up for their e-newsletter ASAP. I know that’s just another email you will not open, and eventually, you will unsubscribe. But trust me when I tell you, their e-newsletters will give you codes for cheaper tickets. Yes, CHEAPER TICKETS.
Scream-A-Geddon will run spontaneous deals where you can get tickets for x price, or you get a percentage off. If you are flexible and can go when they run these deals, you can easily save a good chunk of change that you can then spend in their food court area!
Food and Drink Options at Scream-A-Geddon
When it comes to Halloween events, one thing that’s often overlooked is the food and drink options. Luckily, Scream-A-Geddon doesn’t disappoint in this regard. While the focus is definitely on the scares and thrills, plenty of food and drink options are available to keep you fueled throughout the night.
If you’re looking for something savory, a few options are available. The Monster Burger is a classic option, featuring a juicy burger patty topped with bacon, cheese, and all the fixings. There’s also a Philly Cheesesteak available, as well as loaded fries and hot dogs.
Plenty of dessert options are also available if you have more of a sweet tooth. The Funnel Cake Fries are a crowd favorite, featuring crispy strips of funnel cake dusted with powdered sugar. There’s also a S’mores Funnel Cake available, which takes the classic campfire treat and turns it into a delicious dessert.
Of course, no Halloween event would be complete without some spooky-themed drinks. Scream-A-Geddon doesn’t disappoint in this regard, either. Several specialty cocktails are available, including the Zombie Slushie, which features a rum, pineapple juice, and grenadine blend. For those who prefer beer, several craft beer options are also available.
Deadly Dining Plan
Scream-A-Geddon offers a “Deadly Dining” plan for visitors who want to take a break from the scares and enjoy some delicious food. This convenient dining plan offers two options – one includes an entree and a non-alcoholic drink for $15.95, and the other includes an entree and an alcoholic drink for $21.95.
Bundling the Deadly Dining plan with your ticket purchase means you don’t have to worry about paying for food while at the event. This is especially helpful for those who don’t want to carry cash or cards with them during the scares.
The Deadly Dining options include a variety of mouth-watering dishes such as the Monster Burger, Mac & Cheese Dog, and Loaded Fries. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available to cater to everyone’s dietary needs.
Not only is the Deadly Dining plan convenient, but it also offers great value for money. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring you are fueled and ready to take on the scares for the rest of the night. Plus, with the option of adding an alcoholic drink to your meal, it’s a great way to unwind and relax after a night of adrenaline-fueled scares.
The Haunts at Scream-A-Geddon
Scream-A-Geddon has six haunts, unlike your typical haunt place that usually advertises on TV. This place has five different haunts. Three of the haunts are haunted houses, and two of the three haunted houses are what they call interactive houses. They also have a haunted hayride and a haunted trail.
- Bedlam 3D: A 3D haunt with clowns and other creepy characters that will leave you feeling dizzy and disoriented.
- Cursed Hayride: A haunted hayride that takes you through the dark woods, with plenty of scares and surprises along the way.
- Deadwoods: A haunted trail through a dark and twisted forest, filled with all sorts of terrifying creatures.
- Blackpool Prison: An interactive haunted house where you can choose to be “marked” and become a part of the action. The actors will touch you and drag you around, so it’s not for the faint of heart.
- Infected: Another interactive haunted house, but with a twist. You’re given a laser gun and have to shoot zombies and other monsters as you make your way through the attraction.
Interactive Houses at Scream-A-Geddon
If you’re curious about the interactive houses at Scream-A-Geddon, here’s what you need to know. The interactive houses allow you to choose whether or not you want to be touched by the scare actors. If you choose to be “marked,” the actors will touch you, drag you around, and make you a part of the show. However, you must be 18 or older to choose this option. You can still go through the house as a spectator if you don’t want to be touched.
Tips for First-Timers
If you’re planning to visit Scream-A-Geddon for the first time, here are a few tips to keep in mind:
- Wear comfortable shoes: You’ll be walking around a lot, so make sure you’re wearing shoes that can handle it.
- Dress appropriately: Do not wear your best outfit. If you mark yourself, you will be going through the set with the actors.
- Arrive early: The lines can get long, especially on weekends, so it’s best to arrive early to avoid the crowds.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help: The staff at Scream-A-Geddon are there to help you, so don’t be afraid to ask if you need anything.
Our Experience
Short and simple, yes. Yes, it was worth it. It was worth every penny, to be honest. All of the attractions were amazing! The BlackPool Prison (interactive) house was superb! We decided to mark ourselves, and let me tell you, they WILL touch you the second you get in the door. You WILL get dragged through the house. You will be a part of the entertainment. Trust me, I marked myself, and it was a blast!
Overall, all of the attractions were great. There wasn’t a dud out of them all. We loved how they only let a few people in at a time, so you got the full effect. You weren’t being thrown in like cattle like they do at Halloween Horror Nights and Howl-O-Scream. Most of the time, Vanessa and I were the only ones, making it harder for me to use her as a human shield.
Need More Halloween Activities?
In addition to Scream-A-Geddon, we have posted about other Halloween activities, such as Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney World and Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens. If you’re looking for a more family-friendly Halloween experience, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a great option. This event features special Halloween-themed parades, fireworks, shows, and trick-or-treating throughout the park.
Cannot decide, whether to go to this haunt or howl-o-scream, you’ll also want to check out our which haunt is superior post as well!
