Who Am I? The Person Behind The Birch Perch

I am sure by now that you might be wondering who I am exactly… So here I am to shed a little bit of light on the new mystery person on The Byas Life and The Birch Perch.

My name is Karen and I live in the middle of farm country (aka eastern Maryland). I’m 40 years old and a certified crazy cat lady. I never had any desire for children of my own; in fact, I quite prefer the kind that I can spoil and send home to mommy and daddy at the end of the day.

When I’m not working (which let’s face it, doesn’t happen often enough), I take care of my mother who is in a long-term care facility. Otherwise I can be found reading, listening to music, or trying to sooth my soul in nature.

Where Did The Birch Perch Come From?

Amanda and I have been friends for a while now… Almost 10 years in fact. And one day we were going back-and-forth with each other like we often do, and she called me a bitch… But unfortunately, autocorrect (we will leave my term for autocorrect for another time) decided that I resembled a birch tree instead. We both thought that it was hilarious and so the moniker stuck. We have been best birches ever since, despite having never met face-to-face.
